Amsterdam Golf 2008

The opening ceremony of the Amsterdam Golf 2008 was performed by Jet Bussemaker, State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport, together with Nienke Nijenhuis, a Dutch golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour.
Over 15.000 golf minded vistors were offered all kind of golf related articles, services and activities by in total 150 suppliers. On Friday masterclasses were given by Phil Allen (coach of Joost Luiten) and topamateur Darius van Driel. On Saturday demonstrations were given by the Dutch Golf Association for players with a handicap (NGG). On the same day qualifications were played for the Longdrivers Indoor Championship finals that were played on Sunday for both professional as amateur players. On Sunday we had the Pro’s Challenge, the presentation of the Amsterdam Golf Award and handing over a Golf simulator to the paediatric ward of the University Medical Centre of Leiden.
And again Joost knew how to fill the stands, 9 times, with his sparkling Golftrickshow, specially enriched with new astonishing elements. Interactive and supported by special music he astonished his audience with his, almost magical, tricks. From Austria we had a special guest, mr. Jens Demetz who is the managing director of Hotel Princess Bergfrieden in Seefeld Austria. Jens Demetz presented a Princess a hairbrush or curler to the volunteers. This as a reward for the usage of the helmet whilst being hit with a hose! Jens was also present to promote the special golf clinics that will be organized again this year in Austria. During these golf clinics in Austria the guests will stay in Seefeld in the Hotel Princess Bergfrieden.
Looking back at the Amsterdam Golf 2008 is only bringing back good memories. During every show of Joost the stands were completely filled. The audience was enthousiastic and everybody was in a perfect mood! We are looking forward to Amsterdam Golf 2009!
